LauToroide — A Knot That Glows

Two rings, one twist, a line of amber light running their edge. LauToroide is a love-knot you can switch on.

Topology is usually something you study. At Seda Zwork it's something you switch on. LauToroide takes the Möbius strip — a surface with one side and one edge — pairs two of them, links them, and traces their continuous curve with a line of warm amber light.

The Object

LauToroide is two interlocking half-twisted torus (Möbius) rings — a balanced, flowing knot that plays with light and shadow as you move around it. The bodies are matte, textured, near-black: the kind of fine grain you get from sintered 3D-printed material or cast matte stone. Along the raised outer edges runs a bright amber/orange line, like the form is lit from inside its own curve.

It reads as a "love-knot" — continuity, infinity, connection made physical.

Light as Edge, Not Bulb

What separates LauToroide from a ordinary lamp is where the light lives. It doesn't sit in a shade; it rides the geometry. The amber line emphasizes the single continuous edge of the Möbius form, so the object reads as sculpture first and light second — the glow is the drawing, not the function.

That makes it an ambient accent more than a task light: it sets a mood, marks a corner, and rewards a slow walk around it.

Material & Fabrication

The archive frames it as a 3D-printed art object — digital model or physical print. Matte dark body, inlaid glowing edge (LED strip, backlit resin, or painted accent). It belongs to the same additive-manufacturing family as Z-Tox / 0Cubo: design it, slice it, print it in situ.

This is Physical Virtuality in a small, warm package — a mathematical idea, given a body and a switch.

In Context

LauToroide sits at the heart of the studio's topological / light line, between the knotted red Z-Tox sculpture (form-only) and the ZEDA printed jewels/lamps (wearable and architectural). If Z-Tox is the idea matured, LauToroide is the idea lit.

In the Latent Showroom it's the piece you find when you slow down — a small wonder, as the studio puts it, "que florece en lugares inesperados."

Why It Stays With You

Because it makes a concept warm. The Möbius strip is cold mathematics; add a line of amber and it becomes something you want on your desk at dusk. LauToroide is the studio's thesis in miniature: take the virtual, give it a body, and let it glow.
